Hi, my name is Allie Schuck and I am stoked that you have stumbled across my blog! I am a 29-year-old California native with a passion for the outdoors and travel. I’ve been full-time traveling for over 4 years. A lot of my travels were solo adventures, but more recently I have been exploring the world with my fiancé, Jack. My favorite way to travel is slow and thorough with a strong emphasis on cultural emersion, adventure activities, and nature. I created SchuckYes as a way to highlight all my best adventures and to inspire others to book that trip and get outside their comfort zone! This blog is a guide to the best treks, destinations, and adventurous activities around the world.

How it all began…

My travel addiction really kicked off when I studied abroad in Barcelona, Spain during University. I loved wandering the streets of Barcelona, immersing myself in the Spanish language, and eating all the delicious food. In addition, every weekend, I would hop on a plane and go explore another city in Europe for a few days. I took some of my first solo travels on these weekend excursions and it really sparked my passion for travel.

When I graduated from University I jumped straight into a corporate job and continued to follow the unwritten rules of American society. I remember sitting at my desk watching beautiful days pass by outside and feeling so unsatisfied. My job allowed me to save up a decent amount of money and at the end of a year, I quit my job and bought a one-way ticket to Bangkok. My first solo trip lasted 11 months and I explored most of South East Asia and the East Coast of Australia. I returned home for a few months and then I bought another one-way ticket to Chile. My South America adventure lasted about 15 months. On this trip I met my Fiancé, Jack, and we spent 7 months backpacking in South America together.

When Covid hit we were repatriated from Peru. Eventually I was able to move to Perth, Australia with Jack. We spent the next 2 years saving up and exploring Perth.

Where am I know?

My fiancé, Jack, and I are on a big adventure through Central America in our 1990 GMC Vandura named Bluey. We started our trip on March 13th 2023 and plan to travel for the next 1.5 years. We began our trip in Baja California and plan to take the ferry from La Paz, BCS to Mazatlan, Mexico. From here we will continue through Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama.
